Before you start, collect these papers.
Have ready:
- Your ownership papers and the plot's site plan
- The architect's drawings and, where needed, the structural engineer's details
Before you build, apply to the local body for sanction of the building plan.

When the plinth is ready, ask for the plinth level inspection before you build further.

When the building is finished, apply for the completion certificate.

Apply for the occupation certificate, which you need before you move in.

Apply for the water and sewerage connection for the house.
