  3. No Objection Certificate of Co-heirs
  4. Mutation on a Family Settlement

Why a kit

  • Fill your details once, and every paper in the kit is filled for you.
  • All the papers for the deal, in the right order, with a checklist to tick off.
  • A kit counts as one download, however many papers it has.

What you will need

Use the papers in this order.

  1. Before you start, get everyone in the family together and collect these papers.

    Have ready:

    • Ownership papers of the property to be divided
    • The names and ID proofs of all family members who have a share
  2. Write down what the family has agreed in the memorandum of family settlement.

  3. A family member who is giving up their share in favour of another signs the relinquishment deed (Haq Tyag).

  4. Ask the other heirs to sign a no objection certificate, so the office does not hold up the transfer.

  5. Last, apply for mutation so the land record follows the family settlement.

Tell us the details of this deal once. Each document in the kit then opens with those answers already filled in, marked "From kit details", and you can change any of them.

A kit is for one deal: one set of people, one property. For a different deal, start a new kit.

These details stay in this browser tab only. Nothing new is kept on our servers, and closing the tab clears them. They survive signing in with a code in this same tab.

The details of this deal

More than one person? Write the names together in the one box, like "A and B" or "A, B and C". Only the first person’s parentage and address are asked, so only theirs are filled in; add the others’ details on each document before signing.

For example: Harpreet Singh and Meena Kaur

More details (optional)
You (the applicant): first person’s address
