What you will need

Use the papers in this order.

  1. Before you start, collect these papers.

    Have ready:

    • A recent copy of the jamabandi (fard) and the khasra numbers of the land
    • ID proof of the owner and of the person taking the land

  2. For a fixed rent per year, make the agricultural land lease (theka). Sign it and have two witnesses sign.

  3. For a share of the crop instead of rent, make the batai (crop-share) agreement. Use this or the theka above, as suits you.

  4. If the crop-inspection (girdawari) entry for the land is wrong, make the application to correct it and file it with the revenue office.

  5. To get a copy of the khasra girdawari, for example as proof of who is cultivating, make the copy application.
