What you will need

Use the papers in this order.

  1. Before you start, have these ready.

    Have ready:

    • The loan details: borrower, lender, amount and loan account number
    • The guarantor’s ID and address proof, and income details

  2. Make the deed of guarantee in which the guarantor promises to pay if the borrower does not.

  3. The guarantor fills in the KYC and declaration, giving identity, income and existing liabilities for the lender.

  4. When the loan is repaid, or the guarantor wishes to leave, request the lender to release the guarantor.

  5. If the lender will agree to a new guarantor in place of the old one, make the request to substitute the guarantor.
