Before you start, collect these papers.
Have ready:
- The death certificate of the owner
- The allotment letter or the title papers, and the will if there is one
- ID and address proof of every heir who is claiming
Make the affidavit that there is no other legal heir, and have it sworn. It states who the heirs are, so the offices can rely on it.

If the property is an HSVP plot or house, make the HSVP transfer after death application and file it with the affidavit.

If the property is land, make the Haryana mutation application, so the revenue record is changed to the heirs.
