What you will need

Use the papers in this order.

  1. Before you start, collect these papers.

    Have ready:

    • The member’s ledger showing the unpaid maintenance and other dues
    • The society’s bye-laws and the committee’s decision on interest

  2. Send a defaulter reminder notice to the member.

  3. Work out the interest on the arrears and send the member the statement.

  4. If the dues are still not paid, send the final notice before recovery proceedings.

  5. If the member offers to pay in instalments, record it in a settlement of arrears agreement and have both sides sign.
