What you will need

Use the papers in this order.

  1. Before you start, collect these papers.

    Have ready:

    • Your loan account number and the latest loan statement
    • Your ID proof and the loan sanction letter

  2. Write to the lender asking to close the loan and give the amount to pay.

  3. Ask the lender for the list of your original documents it holds (LOD).

  4. After the last payment, ask for the no-dues certificate.

  5. Collect your original title deeds and sign an acknowledgement that you received them.

  6. Make the intimation of satisfaction of charge, so the mortgage is cleared from the records.

  7. Last, ask the lender to update your credit report after the closure.
