What you will need

Use the papers in this order.

  1. Before a guest moves in, collect these papers from them.

    Have ready:

    • The guest’s ID proof, photograph and permanent address
    • The name and phone number of a parent or a local reference

  2. Make the paying guest agreement and have both sides sign it.

  3. Give the guest the house rules and code of conduct and keep their signed acknowledgement.

  4. When you take the security deposit, give a receipt for it.

  5. Report the guest to the police: make the tenant and paying guest police verification report.

  6. If you need a guest to leave, or the stay is ending, give the notice to vacate.
