NATURE OF THIS REPRESENTATION

This is a written representation to the executive and revenue authority having local jurisdiction, made under the general right of a citizen to petition a public authority. Where the facts concern an apprehended breach of the peace or a public nuisance, they are capable of being considered under the preventive and nuisance provisions of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023; where they concern land records, under the Punjab Land Revenue Act, 1887 as applicable in Punjab and Chandigarh. This representation does not itself decide, and is not capable of deciding, any question of title to immovable property — that is a matter only a competent civil court can determine.
