What you will need

Use the papers in this order.

  1. Before you start, collect these papers. The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has no property tax form on this site, and the Mohali Corporation (MC SAS Nagar) has none either, so the applications in this kit are made here and handed in at the Corporation office.

    Have ready:

    • The latest property tax bill or receipt, showing the property ID or account number
    • A copy of the paper that made you the owner (registered sale deed, gift deed, will, inheritance papers or court decree)
    • ID proof and address proof of the owner

  2. To put the new owner’s name in the property tax record, make the property tax name change application here with your kit details.

  3. If the property tax record itself has a wrong detail (a name, an address or an area), make the property tax record correction request here and attach the paper that proves the right detail.

  4. If the owner’s name is spelt differently on the deed, the tax record and the ID papers, make the one-and-the-same-person affidavit here, sign it and get it attested as the Corporation asks.

  5. Hand in the set at the property tax counter of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, or of the Municipal Corporation SAS Nagar (Mohali), and keep the receipt or diary number.

  6. If someone else will collect the receipt or the corrected record for you, make the authority letter here, sign it and give it to them with a copy of your ID. It is for collecting only; the Corporation may ask you to hand in the application yourself.
