ਹੇਠਾਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਸਤਾਵੇਜ਼ ਦੀ ਆਮ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਰਕਮ ਉਸ ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਨਾਲ ਤੈਅ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਰਟੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਬਦਲਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ — ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਭਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਜ ਦਾ ਅੰਕੜਾ ਸਬ-ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਤੋਂ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਲੈਣਾ ਠੀਕ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਸਟਾਂਪ ਡਿਊਟੀ

The application itself carries no stamp duty — a service request, not an instrument; plain paper. Duty attaches only to two SUPPORTING documents: an indemnity bond (almost always required, especially without a no-objection) — non-judicial stamp paper, state values vary roughly Rs 100-500; and an affidavit (needed if there's no no-objection, the consumer has died, or you're declaring no dues) — roughly Rs 10-100. Verify the current schedule before buying — an under-stamped bond is impounded, not just returned. Buy the paper in the incoming consumer's own name, not the vendor's or an agent's.

ਰਜਿਸਟਰੀ

Not registrable — section 17, Registration Act, 1908 doesn't reach this; no Sub-Registrar involved. File with the discom alongside its own form — get an acknowledgment with a Consumer/Service Request Number; that, not registration, proves filing. The underlying title document — a sale deed always, a lease over 12 months always — must be stamped and registered; the discom can refuse a change resting on a deed that should've been registered.

ਨੋਟਰੀ

The application needs no notarisation — signed in ink. The affidavit MUST be sworn before a Notary or Oath Commissioner, register number and date legible, or it's rejected. The bond should be notarised too. The NOC varies by discom — plain paper with ID at some, notarised elsewhere; ask first. A death/heirship certificate is a certified copy, with the original shown.

The application needs no witnesses. The indemnity bond conventionally carries two (practice, not statutory, but discom formats print the lines). The affidavit needs none — notary attestation is the record. Where the consumer died, the real requirement is a no-objection from EVERY heir — a change over one heir's objection is the most commonly reopened order here.
